Hilger. “B” CLUB The B Club is an organization of boys who have earned one or more letters by participating in the major sports of B. C. H. S. These sports are football, basketball,and track. The B Club boys sell refreshments at basketball games. They also sponsored three dances this year, one of these being a novelty dance. This year all of the seniors who have made at least two consecutive letters in one of the major sports bought award jackets. The officer s of the club were Joe Turner, president; Gun- nar Kalsta, vice president; Don Donovan, sec-treas.; Frank Williss, sar- gent-at-arms. The sponsors were Ben Tyvand and George Scott. 28 H. Don Murray Guard Don Donovan Forward Bill Mitchell Forward The Beavers climbed the ladder of success in the 1953-54 Season losing only one out of their ten conference games and went on to win the district title for the first time since 1946. This gave the Beavers a chance to go to the State Tournament, where they ended up seventh best. Scott's Beavers blasted their way to victory sixteen times out of twenty-four, averaging fifty-three and three-eights points per game. Leading the Beavers in scores for the year were: Don Donovan with 359; followed by Jack Kennison with282; Pete Hilger with Z10; Bill Bier- rum with 131; Don Westad with 108; Jack Selway with 66; Marvin Mil- ler with 55; Bill Cottom with 3Z; John McCollum with 21; Jack Zink with 10; and Don Murray with 4. Reporting from last year's team were Bill Bierrum, Jack Selway, Don Westad, Don Donovan, Pete Hilger, Marvin Miller, and this year's captain, Jack Kennison.
