Foreword We, the Seniors of 1953, present this book to the students of B.C.H.S. It contains a record of the many activities, and special occasions we have enjoyed together. We sincerely hope that it will take its place among your cherished possessions, so that in years to come you may sometimes glance through its pages with fond remembrance. Our graduation brings to a close one chapter of our lives. With the beginning of the next phase our paths are very likely to reach in many directions. It is our desire that the pictures and material combined on these pages shall be our link to the past. With this in mind each passing year will make it more precious to each of us. TO THE SENIORS: Thinking, intelligent men have come to realize that there is more to sowing than just the simple act of committing the seed to the soil. The land must be given care if it is to take care of them. Good citizens are raised in homes and schools where there is co- hesive power of love. There can be no place for the ugly weeds of in- consistency and corruption to remain in our garden of democracy to choke out initiative and ambition of each young life. Good students are ready for and equal to any task which will improve the texture of our society. With our schools and every home eager to shoulder their full responsibility for the condition of the soil'1 we are looking forward to greater harvests of good citizens. Our optimism and enthusiasm may turn to disappointment and even disillusionment if our sowing” does not include a program of thorough study and intelligent care of the soil with which we are working. Our soil for our 1953 Seniors has been worked carefully. We expect that they will do great things for their home, school and country. It has been a pleasure to have had the privilege of working with you. From the bottom of my heart I wish each one of you success in a good life. 4
