Sophomore Class History September 4, 1951, seventy-three freshmen entered Beaverhead County High School. Friday of their first week they were initiated by the Sophomore Class at a school assembly and wel- comed by Mr. Aahl and the F acuity That night they were honored at a mix- er. A return dance was then given for the Sophomores September 21, and then sponsored another dance, October 19- The class elected these officers: Pete Hilger, president; Marvin Miller, vice- president; Elizabeth McFadden, secre- tary; Duane Simons, treasurer; Jack Zink, yell leader. At the beginning of the second year, they initiated the freshmen and then sponsored a mixer after the initiation. They also gave a blue and gold dance and a candy sale. The class's candi- date, Sharon Stanchfield, was elected Harvest Queen for the annual F.F.A. Harvest Ball. The Sophomore Class has many out- standing member s and many of them are very active in school. The following were chosen as the class officers: Don Murray, president; Sharon Bindley, vice-president; Donna Krause, secre- tary; Carol Mockel, treasurer; Rochelle Kofoed, yell leader. 27
