TO THE SENIORS: Graduation is surely a time of keen satisfaction, but just as truly a time of dissatisfaction as well. The teach- er wishes she could have done more for the individual student than circumstances made possible and the student no doubt regrets he did not avail himself more whole- heartedly of the opportunities offered. But as the word commencement implies, you are just pushing through the gates to the whole new world. If you have learned to listen, to read, to observe, to think, there is no limit to what you may accomplish. As your teacher and your friend, my sincerest good wishes go with you in your quest to serve your generation. Lenore T. McCollum Assistant Principal TO THE SENIORS: High school is the modern expression of liberal cul- ture. The variety of its courses, its spirit of universal tolerance, its devotion to learning, the advancement of knowledge and its spirit of service, all combine to pro- duce a broadness of mind, a faith in mankind, a yearn- ing for the higher values of life, decent moral standards, a knowledge of and an interest in the problems of the day. Beaverhead County High School, I believe to be such an institution. I congratulate the seniors on your achievements in the past four years and your fine plans for the future. This endeavor on the part of many of you to fit yourselves to play a worthy part in the work of the world, is a respon- sibility, an obligation to your parents and the community for the investment, that they have made in you. Do the very best you can. Live closely to your ideals, take full advantage of your opportunities. Maylwish you all, good luck, good health, and worthy accomplishments. W. J. Bierrum Assistant Principal 5
