TO THE SENIORS: Democracy is on trial. The United States and other members of the United Nations are engaged in a mighty struggle to see that it shall survive. Here in America we have achieved and are still achiev- ing a high level of living, of comfort and luxury, which the rest of the world envies. We have less than 7 per cent of the world's pop- ulation, but we own and enjoy more than 40 per cent of the world's wealth and income. We have freedom in a sense unknown to any other country in the world, opportunity for growth and development, a wider and more equal distribution of the good things in life. It is your duty as loyal Americans to take an active part in preserving, promoting and developing our great heritage of freedom and demo- cracy.
