RUTH FARNEY VACATIONING IN FLORIDA After returning from a tour of Europe, Ruth Farney has decided to spend the winter in Florida. Prev- iously she has toured South Amer- ica and spent the summer in Egypt. SHOW OF SHOWS TO HAVE NEW MISTRESS OF CEREMONIES Dawn Schorge, the well known radio personality will currently be seen on the Sid Ceaser show as the new mistress of ceremonies. DONNA L'HUILLIER DESIGNS INTERIOR OF NEW BUILDING Donna L'Huillier, the well known interior decorator, has designed the interior of the new apartment build- ing in New York. This is the high- est building in the world. CONGRESSMAN HIRES NEW SECRETARY Joseph Zecher, the distinguished gentleman from New York, has hired Ruth Taube, who has been giving him many unique ideas on the international situation, as his secretary. NEW SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE APPOINTED Glenn Altmire was recently ap- pointed Secretary of Agriculture. He promises every farmer not one —not two—but three eggs a day from every chicken. HOME TOWN MODEL TO FLY TO PARIS Next month a plane load of styles will be flown to Paris to be modeled for the Parisians. Among the models will be Euhlene Myers, the head model of Giant Midgets, Inc. AMERICAN AIRLINES TO HAVE NEW RECEPTIONIST The American Airliner depot at New York has employed Doris Mell- nitz as their new receptionist. This is the highest paid job in the sec- retarial field. NEW BOOK ON ATOMIC POWER RELEASED James Ross, the brilliant scientist, has written a book on the new uses of atomic power. He is Pro- fessor Einstein's successor and is now working on a new theory of irrelevancy. B.R.C.S. HIRES NEW KINDERGARTEN TEACHER The superintendent of the school district has just announced that Margaret Steria has been hired for kindergarten teacher. Some more home town talent has come to B.R.C.S. NEW CHAMPION IN WOMEN'S WRESTLING Lois Hall has thrown Mary Bull- binsky to win the Women's World Championship in wrestling. She really put everything into this fight and clinched the title in fourteen minutes. SAVES LIVE OF BASEBALL Joe DiMaggio was critically ill with flu and his doctors revealed that he would never have lived if it hadn't been for the careful nursing of Pauline Zehr. LOCAL GIRL STARS IN NEW MUSICAL Marcia LeFevre, who has appeared in many Broadway musicals, has just opened as the lead in Moon Happy. Critics and audience raved over her excellent performances. MORE LOCAL TALENT TO TEACH AT B.R.C.S. Another local girl has been hired at B.R.C.S. Joyce Pate has been accepted as driving teacher, the first woman driving teacher since the course was started. JOAN BUSH GETS LEAD IN RADIO SHOW Joan Bush has been hired for the lead in the well-known program Mary's Other Husband. 19

FRONT PAGE NEWS ACCORDION PLEATED RAG HITS NEW HIGH The latest song, Accordion Pleated Rag, by the noted composer, Carol Lehman, has just ended its 25th week on the Hit Parade. The song has sold more copies than any song since 1800—even the Thing which was such a hit in 1950. Sheet music of this song is now selling like wildfire at music stores all over the country. Miss Lehman has con- sented to record this for Columbia and records will be available next month. NOTED ARCHEOLOGIST RETURNS TO STATES FOR CONVENTION Eugent Widrick, an archeologist of great renown, has returned to the states for a meeting of the U.S.A.C. better known as the United States Archeological Convention. His first big success was the discovery of King Aba Aba's tomb. After the convention he plans to go to Africa to try to unearth an ancient city. BILL PASSED TO PREVENT FILIBUSTERING Joseph Zecher, the well known sen- ator from New York has finally put a bill through Congress to pre- vent filibustering. How this ingeni- ous man got it through the Senate, only he will know. Reporters say he may be running for President in the next election. FIGURE SKATER RETURNS TO HOME TOWN Betty Yousey, the figure skater, who has just won the World's title for the second time has returned home for a short vacation. She will be featured in the Ice Capades of '61. SLOW MOTION WINS KENTUCKY DERBY Slow Motion ridden by Warren Lyn- daker, the jockey who has won three Derby's, has hit the jackpot. Slow Motion made it in the fastest time ever made by a Derby win- ner. FIFTEEN RECEIVE TOP HONORS The president of Harvard an- nounced yesterday that Donald Bibbins is the valedictorian of the 1961 graduating class. He is gradu- ating with a Ph.D. in medicine and he has already been assured a top position in a hospital recently constructed. BOYS APPLAUD NEW HOSTESS The boys in the armed forces have unanimously voted Ann Monnat their Hostess of the year. She will tour the country and help large cities set up U.S.O. centers. MORE MUSIC FOR UBANGI NATIVES Miss Foster has recently reported that five hundred British imported zithers and two hundred glocken- spiels have been sent to the Ubangi tribe in southern Africa. She will follow shortly and try to teach the natives a little classical jazz. MEDIATOR TAKES DEFINITE STAND ON U. N. PROBLEM Sally Mathys, the new mediator of the U. N., has taken a stand on the problem of lifting the Iron Curtain. She maintains that this is the only way to promote world peace. BOB STURTZ DEVELOPS NEW MUSCLE COURSE In an exclusive interview Mr. Sturtz said, You too can be as strong as I. Asked how he acquired such strength, he replied that it was due in part to his invention of a thousand dollar rotary exerciser.
