HISTORY To begin w1th, in our high school production of 'The Odyssey,' we had quite a few overlapping characters At the beginning, Carol Nuspliger and Joan Pate earned the title of Orpheus, but Bob Stahlin and Rich Mathys were also in the running, and later on, Frances Dewey We d1dn't limit the part of Ulysses to one person either In our four year's voyage we had four leaders Andy Virkler, Bill Brothers, Norm Schulz, and Carol Nuspliger Compared to the real account of the story, our adventurers were pretty tame, but we had a wonderful time and I guess that that's all that counts For counsel on this, the most momentous journey of our lives, we had Miss Monnat Hrs Stevens, Mr Dewey, and Miss Davis In our first terrifying ship wreck, we lost the records of our freshman year as sailors, and as none of us are of particularly brilliant memories, we shall have to gc on In the second year to brighten things up bit financially we sent news to our version of the 'Lowvllle Leader,' the 'Argus Airlngs In our third year out at sea, we decided that a play was in order, so in March we produced our comedy 'Double Exposure ' We also had two dances, but as they were in a very stormy season, according to the ocean world, they were mostly a party for the crew A small reconnoitering party was sent on to the Island of Montreal as delegates to the International School Music Festival Unlike the original narrative, they all survived, and arrived home safely after quite a few thrilling adventures did quite a few things to provide amusement We gave of all things' a Greek Play about the very conflict from which we had Just barely escaped with our lives It was called Helen's Husband, and it placed high in the eyes of our shipmates who are looilng forward to next year when they can try their hand in the One Act Play Contest We also had a dance not to the dangerous and luring music of the Sirens, but to the melodious strains of the 'Merry Makers ' We went all out early English in December with our senior play, which was directed by Mr Dewey It was called 'Hasty Pud ding ' Then we decided that if they could do it on trains, could do it on board ship, so we sold candy, gum, and that sort of thing We had another play, 'Bmllin' Through' to replace that annual bit of ship curriculum, the U Cum C best Our voyage is practically ended We're sighting the long expected and anti cipated shores of New York at last Thanks for bearing with us 13 ' I , . . 3, -- -- .
