The officers of the Student Council of 1946 are President Duane Street- r, Vice President Robert lisner, Secretary and Treasurer Richard lathys In addition to these officers there is one representative from grades 7 13 who represents his or her class at meetings During the first part of the school year the council held movies every due to the poor attendance, the Student Council discontinued this plan At the close of the school year new officers will be elected for the coming year of 1946 47 The project cf Student Council for tDiB past year has been to sgongcrdthe Beaverian and contribute towards the purchasing of uniforms for e an Ten members celebrated the first anniversary in September 1945 of the Varsity Club le elected Dick loore as president, Harry Buffer as vice- president and Bruce Terry as our secretary and treasurer Coach Abel acted as our advisor le initiated Norman Schulz, Robert Fredenburg, Terry Walker, Richard Mathys and Jesse Farney as new members These, along with Maynard Steiner, completed our membership enrollment for this year 45-46 As an initiation stunt the new members were required to wear hair rib- bons to school, one complete day, in order to gain admittance to the club This year we have taken charge of the basketball games, and have bought athletic equipment with the profits. This year we had another success with a pencil drive and tag day. le feel that our greatest achievment is sponsor- ing the plaque in memory of former high school pupils of Beaver Falls who were killed in lorld lar II. In January, we plowed through snow drifts to attend a college basketball game at Syracuse University. In closing we wish to extend our thanks to all our fellow classmates and our advisor for making our newly organized club the bang-up success, which it has been. 24 e - ' - - . Among the public performances of the Girls Chorus of thirt ei ht mem bers, were the Thanksgiving assembly, the Christmas Concert and the gay Fes Eival of the Lewneida League Some favorite numbers among the girls were Marlan1na', .'Cant1que de Noel' 'Walzting Mat1lda', 'The Orchestra Songn, and Stardust The group showed splendid improvement during the year President Harry Buffer Vice President 31026 TS!!! Secretary Treasurer Ann Lalourey The Beaver River Central School Band of twenty nine members has partici pated in many activities First of these was the Thanksgiving Concert at which Kiss Gibson, a cadet from Potsdam, was present to conduct two numbers lhen we played at home basketball games, the band accompanied the cheer leaders, who sang the school songs Many members together with other B R C S students worked on the 'Vario ties of '46' The proceeds of this very successful show were put into the band uniform fund Our band, for the first time took part in the Lewneids League Festival The massed band, under the direction of Dr Charles 0'le1ll, played the fol Chorus' 'Barcarolle', 'The 0racle', 'Cossack Invocation and Dance' Por the twelve minute program allowed for each school the band played 'Comm Susser Todd' Bach, 'American Patrol' Heachone, 'S I A ' At the annual Spring Concert, the soloists and first choir players were Harry luffer Trombone, Maynard Steiner Clarinet, Frederick lidmeyer Trumpet Other public appearances have been the Memorial day parade and com ence ment exercises 26 I lowing numbers: 'Our Director'-leldong 'Triumphal larch' from Aidag 'Pilgrims 5 . . . x
