The Junior Class started off the year 45 46 with a bang by being assigned to the Commercial Room QOr was it a bang? Prof's office is right next door D Miss Fairchild became our homeroom teacher with Miss Leary to watch over us in Miss Fa1rch1ld's absence The following officers were elected at the beginning of the year Ralph Schneider President Erna Combs Vice President Richard Moore Secretary Earl Ebersol Treasurer After a few weeks we elected Pat Busch to the office of class re- porter and finally settled down to another routine of hard work To really initiate our Junior year, we sponsored our first dance on November 16 The hall was decorated in Halloween style, and if you don't think decorating is fun, just ask some Juniors All was quiet for awhile after this, with only a few class meet ings to break the monotony. Then one Friday Mr. Perry stepped into our room to tell us our class rings had finally arrived. Oh! what Joy! But just think we had to wait over the whole week end before we got them! low, however, we are all proudly sporting them with the greatest of pride. Shortly after this, Christmas time rolled around and we again be- gan our decorating craze. By the way, this time it brought us profits, because our room won first prize for the best decorations. Our play was presented in larch, 'The Saturday Evening Ghost'g and our Junior dance in Hay climaxed a happy and successful year for the class of 1947. if , : X 16

The three act farce, 'Professor, How Could Youi, was success- fully presented by the Seniors on November second and third cast included laynard Steiner, Avis Hirschey, Dorothy Wldmeyer, Stanley lathys, Terry lalker, Lois Hofer, Sallie Fredenburg, Bruce Terry, Harry Nuffer and Catherine larolf Miss Barber acted as Director On April 27, 1945, we, as the Junior Class, presented a glori ous, heart warming comedy of youth, 'Life Begins At Sixteen ' Doris lldmeyer and Maynard Steiner played the leads, Frannie and Paul Hollis lr and Ire Hollis were played by Betty Hoch and Harry Nu! fer Other members of the Hollis family were Snookie and Marjorie played by Sallie Fredenburg and Lois Hofer respectively Dorothy lidmeyer made an ideal Swedish maid A club called the 'Secret Seven' consisted of Beryl lalseman, Catherine larolf, Terry Walker, Avis Hlrschey, and Betty Virkler. Crandal Smythe, a young man with means, was played by Stanley lathys. George Gordon, a you g man without means, was played by Bruce Terry. Joyce Hiller played the part of Elsie, a bank work- er. The action of the play centers around the rlotous situations that the children manage to evoke when their parents leave them to enjoy a few weeks vacation. llrs. Getman directed the playg and llrs. To earn money this year it was decided to sell the 'Lowville Leader' and, in order to make it more interesting for people in this community we sent in our sohool news.
