I We dedicate this, our Senior Annual to DeWitt LeFevre. This Is a small token of our appreciation for the In- numerable kindnesses he has done for our School. Thanks for the fine cooperation, I have had the oast nine years, from you students, faculty, and those con- nected with the administrative duties of the school. I have sincerely enjoyed my work here in Beaver Falls. The stu- dent body has been wonderful to me, and the parents have been very co- operative. I am sure that next year I will miss the youngsters that I have had in my room. I have been on the faculty of Beaver Falls High School for thir- teen years. It has been a pleasure to work with Mr. Seally, the Board of Educa- tion and the people of Beaver Falls School District, for neadjr a decade. I have taught here for the past nine years. This fall I shall teach in Lyndonville, New York. It is with a sense of regret, I leave my many friends in Beaver Falls. To the pupils-I have enjoyed working with you, and I wish you every success and happiness. « o o i) FACULTY DOROTHY DAVIS Junior High Social Studies and English Potsdam State Teacher's College, NYSCT, Syracuse University EDNA STEVENS Science, Physical Education, Health Buffalo State Teachers College, B.S. Oh-look at this yearl Our freshmen year! How unaccustomed to high school we were then. All we did was have fun, I guess (except when stepped all over by the seniors). We had a Halloween party, Christmas party, sleigh rides plus wax on snow afterwards, to say nothing about our skating parties, and last, but not least going to the movies on the bus. Boy, didn't we have fun on those movie trips? We were not allowed to take these trips other years beoause we were so unfortunate as to be in high school when this war broke out. No-o-o, we didn't have fun all the time-----there was also the serious side of the picture. At the beginning of first term, we elected Shirley Hathys—president; 8h£rl®y Zehr—vice president; Audrey Zehr—secretary; and Alice Fred- enburg—treasurer. Miss Finch, our trustworthy advisor, kept us organized. Since the freshmen officers were all of the feminine gender, the boys decided to take over; consequently, in the sophomore year we find President—Stuart Albertson, vice president—David Tooker, secretary Ed Petzoldt, and trea- surer—Royal Parker. I would like to know how many times Ed Petzoldt had the minutes written for each class meeting, any- way, ho always seemed to bet by. My diary seems to be writ- ten a littlo more seriously, so I lmagne we were Just begin- ning to get acquainted with our new adventure, namely HIGH SCHOOL. Oh yes, we started thinking about the future at this point, because this is when we sold greeting cards to aa n none-' for our senior trip and ringr. It was .nocessary .to order ootr rings this spring in order to be able to get them the fal of our Junior year. Many sleigh rides, skating parties, and holiday praties were also packed with fun. My goodness. It doesn't take long for another year to pass by. does it? This year my diary reveals that, vq eatered tbo B. f. H. 5. as Juniors! Imagine that 2 Being Juniors uien only yesterday w were struggling as freshmen. We worked hard that year (well, I'm sure some did) beoause we knew It was too does to our last year. Also, It would re- quire a large sum of money in order to take a pleasant senior frlp. We started off the year by electing Emma Bweeney-prec- ident, Stuart Albertson-vloe president, Marjorie Wisnsr-seo- rstary and Owen Jones-treasurer. After our political Ja §§ree was settled, we started planning for a dance, v s •ertainly were awarded higJily for all of the hard work on this project for we earned about 40.001 a large sum of money• Our iuok seemed to oontlnue all year long • After the great suocese to our Junior-play, i-ifctle women we had about £200 in the treasury. Each of us could have kissed Kiss Robinson for let- ting us pass our rings out in Social Studies class. From that time on, there were no frowning Juniors to be seen. We were all as happy as larks 1 The time has finally come when we will take the head class of the school and be able to look down at the others and remember when we were in their olaces. This year is what all of us have been working and dreaming for—for the past eleven years, and it has come at last i Next year at this time we will all be going our way- -some to college, some in the armed forces, some in factories, but v'herever each one of us is, we will always rememoer the good ole B.F.H.S. and remember the good tlme.s we had there. All of us were looking forward toward receiving the same homeroom we had last year which was room 22. We sort of regretted toeing placed in the commercial room, but not one of us has regretted it since Miss Leary has added her humor and brightness. The desks have drawers in which you can't get all of your iooks. Emma Sweeney was elected president, Paul Marolf—vioe President, Nina. Jackson—Secretary, and Ed Petzoldt treasurer far this year. We immediately started hunting through scads of nlay books to find a play that would satisfy every senior, aunt Susie Shoots the Works finally caught everyone's af- fections. Upon request, this play was reproduced, and as a result, it meant more practice and hard vrork. We didn't mind this oecauso there wa.s olenty of potato chips and Coca Cola to go around each night. Miss Davis was our Director . The U-Kum-C-Fest was a howling success, also. Everyone seemed to enjoy this immensely; we are pleased that they did. Next morning some of us wished that the school wasn't quite as large as it is. It's quite a job for about half a dozen sen- iors to clean the whola school. The village of Beaver Falls had a Teat treat on May 17, when we had Sallie rand her Montana Plainsmen play for our dance. We had a large crowd which made all of us shine with hapoiness. Last fall we had another one when we had the Carthage recreation orchestra. 3oth wore a success. If you ever see any of the seniors huddled together, you can bet 2 to 1 that they're talking about our great trip to Montreal right after graduation. We certainly are looking forward to this oxciting adventure, and even more than that- -graduation. Two great adventures will be over in a singl week—the week of June 24. % • • • • . . — -U • «K • © .l V • ■ :.J .. • 4 .
