To our good friend I found something in my file I thought you might be able to usef, Cer- tainly, no one could have taken senior English in Beaver Area High School with- out hearing these words from Miss Esenwein. In her files she seems to possess an endless supply of material for research themes, books for outside reading, fascinating newspaper clippings, one-act plays and unusual magazines-enough to satisfy the interest of each individual in any of her classes. Along with all this helpful material, however, she imparts something even more valuable to us-her great interest in each one of us and her advice and encouragement. As a wise man once said, HA teacher, if he is indeed wise, does not bid you enter the house of his own wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mindf, To that end, Miss Esenwein has required much of us, en- couraging and inspiring us to set our goals high. Quick to remind us of our shortcomings, she is also foremost in congratulating us on our triumphs. Ever since she came to Beaver ten years ago she has been an inspiration and a true friend to each senior class as it comes along. Knowing the value of good preparation, Miss Esenwein has worked untiringly to give her college- bound students the best backgreund possible tor their advanced courses. On the other hand, the students in general and commercial English have also re- ceived valuable experience in speaking, writing, and reading which will be of benefit to them wherever they may go. But most of all, she has been con- cerned with helping each student realize his own potentialities. In appreciation and gratitude for all her efforts, we dedicate the Shingas of 1957 to Miss Cathryne Esenwein, our senior English teacher. Class of l957
