Be specific - Read your text - l'm sorry, l'm sorry, but the facts are the facts cmd I don't mind saying so. Who but Nevin W. Reber has become synonymous with these oft-repeated bits of advice? They are characteristic of him as he tries to im- press those who come into his laboratory daily with the impor- tance cf clear thinking and thorough understanding of the funda- mentals of chemistry and physics. His natural scientific curiosity developed early in life and has continued until the present as he constantly keeps pace with the most recent scientific discoveries. Following his-graduation from high school he attended Keystone State Normal School, Lafayette College, and Franklin and Marshall College from which he was graduated in 1923 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then went to Youngwood, Pennsylvania where he served as high school principal from 1923 to 1927. That fall he came to Beaver High School as science teacher and has remained here since. ln 1934 he received his Master of Education degree from the Uni- versity of Pittsburgh. Mr. Reber has become as much a part of Beaver High as the building itself. The bow tie, the familiar white coat, the twink- ling eyes, the raised eyebrow, the T's for talking, and the dry sense of humor have all come to be associated with the man in Room 213. As a student of science past, present, and future he has developed a rich and varied background from which to draw as he leads his students along the pathway of scientific thinking and understanding. Many graduates who have already gone out into the field of science can attest to the thorough basic train- ing they received from him. Nothing pleases him more than to see his students making good, or to look into the future and en- vision the many developments in science which will give- better things fcr better living through chemistry. And so- We, the Class of 1954 can think of nothing more appropriate to say than- THE FACTS ARE THE FACTS AND WE DON'T MIND SAYING -we are happy to dedicate the SHINGAS to our good friend and teacher- ' Weuin agar
