Foreword When a thoughtful TIGER Staff meets an enthusiastic, intense, triumphant, enchanted, and happy student body, the result is the 1967 TIGER, a kaleidoscope of moods. Moods, of course, are emotions; emotions are a vital part of people; and people, after all, is what makes the BFASHS collective TIGER a living thing possessing many moods. If he stretches his muscles, he’s an athletic tiger. When he’s patrolling, he’s a citizen tiger. If you find him quiet and meditative, he’s an academic tiger. What he’s doing determines the tiger’s mood, but so does his age. If he’s a one-year-old cub, new at the BFASHS paths and waterholes, he’s got to be a sophomore. With one-year’s experience at survival, he becomes a junior; and, of course, when he fights his way to three-year-old adulthood, he’s an unbeatable senior. Attempting to divide and classify, however, eventually becomes too complicated. The tiger’s mood, we found, does change both as quickly but as subtly as a kaleidoscope. We can only hope, therefore, that as you turn the pages of the 1967 TIGER you will see and feel what we sensed, the many moods of the BFASHS tiger. 4
