MR. WILLIAM A. SMITH Principal Serving as principal of any high school is quite an honor, and there is no person more deserving of this honor than Mr. William Smith. As principal of Beaver Falls High School, he is responsible for all the success of academic activities. During his first year as principal he has succeeded in having more student participation in school activities by instituting all-school” pep meetings and assemblies. But most of all, he has made both teacher and student feel more important by the individual attention he has given to all of us. BFHS could not have honored a finer man. DR. JAMES A. MOORE Director of Curiculum Dr. James A. Moore, director of curriculum, is a graduate of Beaver Falls Area High School, Geneva College and the University of Pittsburgh. As director of curriculum, he recruits and interviews teacher candidates, supervises the student teaching program, and observes teachers in the classroom. His primary function is to provide the best possible curriculum for the students who attend the Beaver Falls Area Schools. He plans and directs the in-service training program for the teachers, trying again, to provide the best possible program of studies for the students, BEHS is indeed grateful for Dr. Moore’s time, talent, and work. MR. EVAN NARDONE Assistant Principal During his first year as Assistant Principal of Beaver Falls Area High School, Mr. Evan Nardone has carried a load of responsibility. He had to quickly learn the art of scheduling, counciling, and controlling fifteen hundred new faces. His routine day includes an office filled with troubled students, advice-seeking parents, and constantly ringing telephones. Mr. Nardone’s main duty is to assume the responsibility of the principal in case of his absence, and he fulfilled this duty quite ably during Mr. Smith’s short illness. We all must agree that Mr. Nardone has become a strong link in our administrative chain. MR. ANTHONY META Director of Guidance Mr. Anthony Meta, Director of Guidance, has put eleven years of his time and hard work into the bettering of BFHS. Mr. Meta’s main objective is to work very closely with the Senior class and to help plan all class activities, including the prom, Senior class parties, and the scheduling of tests for college bound seniors. One exceptional program he instituted is the annual meeting at which Admission Directors from several colleges inform students of the standards their specific choice requires for admission. However, those not planning to attend college have an equal opportunity to speak with directors from many of the vocational schools around the area. Without Mr. Meta’s assistance, many BFHS students would not know where to turn after graduation. HELEN MIDDLEBROOK Secretary PAT BENKO Secretary CATHY FEENEY Secretary 25
