In Memoriam LEROY ANGLE The untimely passing of Mr. Leroy Angle during this last school year was a sudden and shocking experience to each member of Beaver Falls High School. As he left our midst, he took a portion of BFHS with him. His presence in our school system from the year 1931 until his death added a touch to our school that is hard to describe. Perhaps it was his co-operation and helpfulness that caused the loss that was felt. His departure from our scene can be likened to a machine running without all the oil that is needed. The machine will still run, but the smoothness and efficiency of it is greatly reduced unless all the oil is added. So it was with Mr. Angle and our high school. The school still ran after he left, but not as smoothly as it had while he still taught here. We of the TIGER staff truly desire to express the sorrow that all students and faculty members felt with the passing of Mr. Angle. RUTH MARSH Serving well over 500 students and teachers their lunches each day proved to be a very difficult job, but with the guidance of Mrs. Ruth Marsh, Lunch Room Advisor, the Cafeteria Staff performed their job with efficiency. Thus the passing of Mrs. Marsh during the last school year was quite a blow to this staff, as well as the entire school. The loss of her friendly smile and constant aid was extremely easy to detect. Most of us took her for granted, but with her unexpected death we soon realized that she had done her difficult job with a smoothness no one else could possibly copy. Her passing proved the statement true that you never realize how fortunate you are to have someone or something until after that thing is no longer yours. Mrs. Marsh came to BFHS in 1956, when she accepted the post of Lunch Room Advisor. Prior to this she had taught subjects ranging from science, Latin, and math to her field of home economics in various schools. Mrs. Marsh, although gone from our scene, will always be remembered in the hearts of many BFHS students and teachers. 20

DR. J. RICHARD FRUTH Superintendent In his first year as Superintendent of the Beaver Falls Area School District, Dr. J. Richard Fruth has become a prominent and well-known figure in BFHS. Dr. Fruth is a graduate of Geneva College, Duke University, and the University of Pittsburgh. He was the former Beaver County Assistant Superintendent, a position which he held for five years. New Dr. Fruth is responsible for overseeing all activities which are undertaken in the school district and he can often be seen visiting all schools to make sure things are running smoothly. Yet he still finds time to take an active interest in our own high school’s extracurricular activities, as well as our scholastic achievements. His co-operativeness and capable leadership will long remain in the minds of BFHS students. Secretary 21
