foreword Our school year has closed; the activities and hard study of 1961-1962 are over. The seniors, who have departed, remain only as an image. They shall never cast their shadows on BFHS halls as students again. The juniors and sophomores remain at our Alma Mater to present profiles of their character and abilities. The TIGER staff has spent much time compiling the pleasant memories of 1961-1962. The activities of the past year are only shadows, which now follow us. The TIGER attempts to capture the people who cast those shadows on BFHS. We hope you find in these pages pleasant memories of your friends, your school, and yourself.

Thinking of a silhouette we are reminded that lightness is necessary to distinguish it from ordinary darkness. In the same way. Dr. Smith has lighted our school, by his efforts to give it added form and meaning. Due to his foresight, the Shop Annex, Central School, South School, and Senior High Addition were erected. He has expanded opportunities for gifted students in math, science, English, social studies, art, business education, physical education, music, and industrial arts.
