HUNTER Director of Vocal Music Cl T HE familiar refrain, 1 Love a Parade, reflects the senti- ment of every Beaver Falls student-especially when our own band leads the parade. Our band has been doing that. Last year We won second place in a national contest held at Wash- ington, D. C. Locally, we won first place at the Monaca Centennial. This spring we are going back to Washington to try for first place. No, the band does not do all its playing away from home. It peps up our football and basketball games and provides enjoyable concerts. C5 oifz WE sometimes Wonder how many Lily Ponses, Lawrence Tibbetts, or Grace Moores will come from our A Cappella Choir. Our singers have provided us with fine assembly pro- grams, especially before Christmas and Easter vacations. We like both the singing and the vacations. In March members of the Choir presented an operetta called The Lucky Jade. Here they proved that they can act as Well as sing. Soon the choir will be ready to do its part in the Beaver County Music Festival. We know it will bring credit to our school. AN EXCELLENT standard of work has been maintained by our Orchestra this year. Under fine direction it has again arisen to a position among the leaders of the Various district musical groups. Its active participation and cooperation in numerous social functions such as assemblies, concerts, and special programs have marked it as a vital part of our school life. We thank the Orchestra for its good work and Wish for continued success to both members and leader. Gzcgaafza A LTHOUGH not quite as active as our A Cappella Choir, the Girls' Chorus has, nevertheless, established itself as a necessary part of our school. Many a girl owes her position in the Choir to the training she received in the Chorus. When- ever there is an opportunity to sing for the school, the Chorus does its full share. We especially remember its performance in connection with the Christmas program. Yes, the Chorus is ready and willing to sing. They have always been depend- able and we are sure they will remain so.
