The governing body of our school is the student council with the assistance of the principal and a faculty advisor. The representatives of this body are selected by an election in the counselee groups in the spring. A general assembly is held in the spring of the year where the selected students give their campaign speeches for the presidency. Our student council gives the student the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of government and to work out their problems. The major activities this year have been: October 3-HOMECOMING-The student council has complete charge of homecoming every year. October 31-HALLOWEEN DANCE-Remember it after the Waupun game? Everything was free. There was coke, doughnuts, noise-makers, movies, and dancing for everyone. December 1-CLOTHING DRIVE-Over sixty huge bundles of clothing were collected to send to needy people in foreign countries. January-ADOPTION OF A FOREIGN CHILD-The students contributed S185 dollars for Anna's care for one year. January 30 and 31-MARCH OF DIMES CAMPAIGN-Donations were collected at a bas- ketball game. The climax came the following night at the March of Dimes Dance. Over S100 was collected. February 14-TWIRP DANCE- Be My Valentine was the theme. March 17-TALENT SHOW- Garthur Odfrey and His Friends . WAYLAND MIXER-This was the last project of the year. It is held to promote a better understanding between the two schools. e ,H.
