Sophomore or C-Dequirecl. . . Pursuing the required subiects, the Sophomore takes biology and begins his second year of study- ing English grammar. This year gives him the op- portunity to broaden his mental horizons through vicarious experiences made available by the best selections from authors of many countries.

Qlective. . . Each student at Beaver Creek is required to register for five subiects each year, so the Sophomore may select three elective courses from a varied list. His individual ability, interests, and preferences become his guide for this choice. By the second year of high school the student is encouraged to carefully consider various vocations. A wise choice and an evaluation of his vocational plans give the student opportunity to exercise his own judgment and to assume responsibility for his own actions.
