Mission Club The Patrician Unit of Catholic Student Mission Crusade here at Beaumont is a very active group. The club is organized to aid in spreading the word of God by affording both spiritual and financial aid to the needy missionaries all over the world. This end is accomplished by various activities throughout the year, highlighted by the ever- popular Mission Dance, First wuz' Karen Md-lale, joy Mankis, Mary Madigan, Mary Fleck, Dolores Gullia, Renee Corso, Diana Dattilo, jane Slattery. Second row: Mary Jo Vince, Treasurer: Nancy Graf, Secretary: Mary Hopkins, Preridenl: Mary ,lo O'Donnell, Brrsirzert Manager: Gertrude Miller, Vine-prerizlerlt. Librar Club To be a member of the Library Club, a student must work in the library three periods a week. Acting as librarian and book-binder are just a few of the interest- ing jobs available for the girls. The members of this club help make the Beaumont Library a more enjoyable and efficient place in which to work. Debate Club Left tn figbtf Lucille Dulka Nikki Nardolillo Judy Strunk Lois Cerny I The Debate Club is organized to stimulate interest in the often neglected field of public speaking. In addition to studying the clear, concise expression of ideas, members have a chance to gain valuable experience in speaking before an audience. The debate topic for the year was Resolved that the President of the United States be Elected by Direct Vote of the People. The speaking this year has achieved several highly gratifying results, the gI'C2lt6St of which was the winning of the much coveted trophy. Director: Sister Alice Clare. Ambitious and willing girls with acting ability make up the Dramatic Club. They spend unlimited time preparing skits put on in assemblies for Thanksgiving, Christmas and other special occasions. This club plays an important part in devel- oping poise and personality in its members. Director: Miss Mabel Strong. Civics Club The Civics Club, which meets every Friday during the regular class period. is designed to teach us to be better citizens. Discussing current events and making a scrapbook of articles pertinent to world affairs contributes to an interesting class.
