The day before the Homecoming game, faculty and students gathered on the campus lawn for a picnic and carnival. Among the many forms of entertainment were music, games, and contests. Musical entertainment was provided by Fat Jack, a group partly composed of Beaumont High students. The dunking machine proved to be a star attraction as picnikers tried their aim to soak student and faculty participants. Other attractions were apple bobbing, car bashing, tire rolling, wheelbarrow racing, sack racing, three-legged racing, feather blowing, and other assorted contests. As the afternoon contests ended , ticket stubs were drawn for prizes. Top left: Cheerleaders entertained students while band members took a break. Left: Some students preferred more privacy.
