Prior to that time he was Director of Curriculum and lnstruction for seven years. lle received his Bachelor of Science degree from North Texas State Col- lege and his Master of lfducation from the llniversity of Texas. As the Assistant Superintendent of Schools. Nlr. Shannon is in charge of personnel and the Department of Curriculum and lnstruction. Superintendent Nm. lflilill w. nt'Nn:n Nlr. Hunter. Superintendent of Schools for Beaumont lndependent School District. has held this title since 1951. Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees were received from Aus- tin College and his graduate work was done at the University of Texas.
