First Meeting of P. T. A. September 17, 1948 Program Introduction to Year's Theme The Student Life Programn Fred W. Hunter, assistant school superintendent, gave the introduc- tory talk. He stessed - high school education should be so diversified that it would give each student a start toward his ultimate goal in tlte economic world. Four eachers gave resumes of the work of their departments in help- ing students plan careers- Mrs. Velma Jaeggli, director of testing and counseling, city schools Mrs. Jeanette Kindsvater, head of distributive education C. L. Schmucker, vocational agriculture Leland B. Luchsinger, Trades and Industries Qtwo latter speakers of the diversified occupations departmentj Student's viewpoint was given by Don Thompson, president of the student body. Mrs. Barney E. Smith, PTA president, spoke briefly. Program concluded with social hour in home economics room hon- oring new parents and teachers. Mrs. S. D. Bennett, past 4th district president and member of PTA board, and Mrs. Smith presided at the punch bowls. Mrs. W. C. Douglas, program chairman, announced.
