ADAMS, TOMMY HLWG, laugh, and be merry -this is certainly Tommy's motto. When Adams is around, you may be quite sure that no moment is going to be dull. His jokes may be ancient, but we couldn't do without them. Whatever path he follows, we wish him the best, 'cause he's Ha jolly good fellow. ALEXANDER, MARY ELIZABETH How can anyone so small hold so much intelligence and so much fun at the same time? Mary Elizabeth is the happy possessor of a heart open to all the world. She's a secretarial aspirant, and we know sheill find success in that field. So. here's happiness to her, always. ALFORD, MAURICE Here we have another loyal Royal Purple, of whom we're very proud. Maurice is a well-liked personality in his wide circle of friends. And those friends all send him off with the best of all wishes for a' truly happy and prosperous future. S l HS Easy-going Jimmy, president of our senior class, is a born leader. Hels always been tops with everyone, especially the girls! Jimmy can change from the serious to the humorous in less than a moment, and we all love him for it. Wherever he goes, whatever he does, we'll always remember him for the friendly, laughing chum he's been. BARNES, JAMES J. B. -those initials could stand for Just Brilliant or James Barnes, because Jimmy and outstanding achievements are inseparable. No matter what he attempts, nothing less than excellence satisfies him. As for satisfying, James certainly does: Friendly, schol- arly, a great athlete-and-well, if you please, just one swell guy! MORRIS, MARTHA JANE Somebody special on anybody's list is M. J. M. There's something unusually inspiring about that girl! Her vibrant Personality and boundless energy have become part of BHS legend, and we admire her for the countless hours she's worked on numberless school projects. The future sees her headed for radio work, and, well, how could she help but be a success? SMITH, KENNETH Football, hunting, fishing-those three things are symbolic of Smitty, Blonde, good-looking Kenneth will enter the Air Corps after graduation. ATOR, ROBERT The boy with the dark eyes and the shy grin-that's Robert. You have to know him well to get more than a timid Hin from his lipsg but we know he shelters a wealth of friendliness and generosity beneath that timid exterior. Here's the best in the world to you, Robert! BALDWIN, ANNA JEAN Anna Jean plans to attend T. U. on completion of two years' work at Lamar. The saying Beautiful but dumb does not apply here, because this pretty brunette plans to major in mathematics and foreign languages. Our best wishes go with her. BAZ, MATILDA Matilda will get along anywhere. With the talents and the inclination to use them that she has, life is sure to treat her well. College and a course in aviation will kep her busy after graduation. Good luck, Matilda! BEADLE, DALTON The strong and silent type is Dalton. I-Ie's always ready, not to do perhaps the obvious thing, but the thing that he thinks is right. He's bound to get along everywhere, because he likes people and they most certainly like him. BEAN, FRANCES Frances doesn't talk a great deal but when you look for her she's always there, doing as she should, with that winning smile on her lips. She wants to be someone's private secretary, and after graduation will take a business course. BELAIRE, VELMA Dark-eyed, dark-haired Velma seems never to be in a hurry, and yet whenever she's needed or wanted, there she is! May your kindness and generosity be repaid ten thousand times, Velma, and may all you give to life be returned to you, enriched a hundred times. BEMAN, BETTY JEAN In the future a certain hospital is going to be very popular with the stronger sex. Do you want to know why? Well, because Betty Jean is going to be head nurse. Can't you just hear the boys begging for Miss Beman to please take my temperaturev? BERNARD, WILMA Now what is a nickname for a sweet little girl like Wilma? Well, we don't know, but she's the most energetic person we've seen in many a day. She's not sure but believes stenography is the profes- sion for her. We wish her luck in whatever she does. BERRY, JULIA Give me my bronc and my saddle is this young lady's cry. Bowling is also one of her favorite pastimes. As for her college life, she wants to go to Lamar and from there to Baylor. After her studies are completed she wants to see the world. Our hearts go with you, Julia, to the ends of the earth. BILLINGSLEA, BARBARA This lovely red-haired gal was not with us for very long, but certainly long enough for us to know her and to like her very much. We send her our sincerest wishes for a rosy, laughing future nobmatter where she goes, no matter what she chooses for her lifetime Jo . BINGHAM, J. o. Another one of the wolf pack of BHS is J. O. Likeable and friendly and capable, he is popular with his friends and teachers. BHS will remember him fondly, and expects to hear only the best from him in the future-and may that future be filled with all the best of things in life. BLACK, BARBARA This charming young lady has as her ambition to be an interior decorator, one of the best. She wants to go to Baylor Uni- versity first to study, and then will be New York bound to continue her work. Wherever she goes, whatever she does, Barbara will always win friends and influence people because of her lovely personality.
