The team had a 7-3 overall record and placed fourth in the State Meet. It was third in the Normandy Relay Meet. Although starting with a young team this year. Mr. Obermark hopes that the team can win the Public High League Swimming Crown again. In the Maplewood Relays the team finished sec- ond. defeating all city schools in the relay division. The shuttle hurdle relay of Wecker, Kotteman, Jones, and Kapelski won their event in record time. The following week in the East St. Louis relays the previously 'Ajinxed two-mile re- lay romped away with thc trophy and the record. At the District Meet, again defeating all city schools. the Seniors finished third. In this meet Fred Henger recorded the fastest 880 time in Missouri, as he won this event. Jim Kapelski led the team to an excellent third place linish in the Outdoor State Meet, as he emerged the State high-hurdle champion, This season ended with the Seniors' winning the Public High trophy on Eield Night.
