Principal’s Message Pride mingled with apprehension fills my heart when I think of you, the Class of 1960. I am proud of your coopera- tiveness, your friendly enthusiasm and your spirit of fun. Yet I am apprehensive. I fear that upon leaving school, yoi may fail to grow and broaden. You must realize that life necessitates a constant expanding of mind and heart in ordei to be lived successfully and fully. I fear, also, that you may forget your responsibilities as citizens. Although abilities may vary, life's responsibility does not—each person is called upon to live and serve with the best of his capabilities. A principal feels that he should tell each graduating class many things, but Rudyard Kipling has expressed the essence of these thoughts in this quotation from his poem, If. If you can keep your head, When all around are losing theirs Then you'll be a man my son! 12
