Foreword . . . The Senior Class presents the 1957 edition of The Mainsail. In this year's an- nual we have tried to present our outstanding people, our activities, and our athletics as we see them every day and as we shall always remember them. We feel that in so doing we have captured the heart of our school. Our greatest wish is that the 1957 annual will be just that to you, and that in future years, as you turn Its pages, you will feel, once more, the happiness, the helpfulness, the excitement, and the friend- liness that is B.H.S. Our thanks to one and all who have made this annual possible. We appreciate the helpand consideration given us by the faculty and principal. . . . Dedication c He has been with us only three years, but we have all grown to love him. His wisdom and understanding have led us up the long road to maturity. Through his knowledge and guidance, we have learned the true meaning of sports- manship, loyalty, and school spirit. He has taught us to play the game fairly whether we win or not, for the real winner is the one who takes a defeat cheerfully. In appreciation for his guidance and understanding, we, the Senior class of 1957, dedicate this, our annual, with humble thanks, to Coach Hugh Gordon.
