-c •vT’ ' g £ faculty Many problems and happy moments have taken place in our lives since first we entered the first grade twelve long years ago. But down the path where our foot- prints trod we were blessed with the wonderful guidance of our principal and under- standing teachers. They helped us over the rough spots, helped us with our many problems, and shared in our happy moments. We hope that the footprints that we leave at dear Beaufort High will be memories to be cherished. Whatever has been achieved by us, we know that we owe much credit to the patience, understanding, thoughtfulness, and kindness to our principal, teachers, parents and friends.

31 n Jfflcnt oriam Bom Oct. 23, 1936 Died March 20, 1953 Another Senior has lost his life, another name Added to the highway's tolI — Another driver must go on living With a tortured soul. A Senior-Superlative loved by all Industrious, honest, fine- Bumming home from basketball practice. Death far from his mind. The night was clear and lovely, with bright Stars and moon-beams, Jamie was in life's springtime, his heart Full of bright dreams. Me leaves with each Senior a challenge, Obey traffic Laws, stay sober, don't speed. Help save the lives of tomorrow's youth. This is your country's need. Obey-----then make better laws dear Classmates, Is my last appeal- And please keep the icy hands of death From your own steering wheel. Don't let my going mar the joys Of your Graduation Day- And may God always be beside you as You travel life's highway. —Louise Spivey— A memory is etched in each Senior's heart Always to remain- Stunt Night-and the tragic death of Robert Norman Swain. President of our Freshmen Class The leader in our play- We seemed to know so little of death Until that tragic day. His smile was as bright as the sunshine His eyes os blue as the sky- He was such an important part of our class. Nine years at Beaufort High I So often he comes back to us on Memories golden wings- We can see him now, as he would have been In our rememberings. A natural leader, he would surely have Won the Victor's crown- And he would have made a handsome picture In his cap and gown. In the shrine of each heart is an album. We'll take where’er we go- Our high school pages, bright and happy are Warmed by his friendship's glow. In there we have placed our football team- Our band on parade- The cloistered halls of Beaufort High Where our Prayer Group prayed. The Junior and the Senior Prom- Our teacher's hardest test- The memories of our growing up years. Will always be the best. Wonderful-happy-go I den memories, of these Robert was an important part- We place them lovingly and carressingly in the Album of each Senior's heart. Bom Oct. 21, 1937 Died Jan. 17, 1956
