 Dedication We, the graduating class of 1953, dedicate this, our annual, to our principal, Bruce E. Tarkington. Although he has been with us only a short while, ne has already proved to be a dear friend and advisor. He has given us a greater pride in our school and we feel that, in future years, we will be able to claim it without hesitation; knowing, that under his leadership, it is still the same fine school we knew and loved. Principal's Message I am thankful for this opportunity to express to the patrons, students and faculty of Beaufort Graded School my sincere thanks for making my first year as your principal such a memorable one. To the class of ’53, who have served their school so faithfully through the years, my charge to you is to continue your habit of service. Our nation!s success depends on you and the many other graduates who are leaving our public schools this year. You have the opportunity to bring even greater glory to your school now by the contributions you make to your fellow man. Remember it’s not the gale, but the set of the sail that determines the way we go .
