This year’s football team is the first to represent the school since 1942. During the war, football was discontinued due to lack of equipment and capable coaching, but now, in the year 1949-1950, the Beaufort Junior Chamber of Commerce has raised money to buy equipment for us. Coach McQuaid took the gridiron hopefuls and started working them into shape. By the time of our first game we had a hard-working team which defeated Richlands 19 to 0. Our second and last game was played with Swansboro. We succumbed to a last half defeat with a final score of 14 to 12.
