ICGTS 3 Standlng Thober Walker Axtell Seated Morrls Semor Script After the first few moments of feellng rather shy and green the Class of 48 as sophomores began taklng ady antage of BHS s golden opportunl tles Accordlng to tradltlon we should have stood aslde awe struck by the superlor and condescend mg attxtudes of our elders But not us We plunged lnto the scholastlc and soclal whlrl head flrst And belleye me we created qulte a splash By the tlme our JUIIIOI' year rolled around and we had lost eyery trace of selfconsuousness we chose as cla s leaders Donn Walker presldent Ben Goble ylcepresldent Bob Hardxn secretary treasurer For the jumor Class play we presented the mys tery thrlller Suspense and used the proceeds to present the out 50111 senlors Mltll a very successful ,lumor Senior Prom preceded by a banquet with Donn Walker a the wltty toastmaster lI1C1Cl8l1 tally we yery nearly rumed tradltlon and rocked the bleacher yyhen yye almost beat the senlors Ill the olympu ln our second year we gained control of Stu dent Councll yylth Bob Morris as presldent Eleanor Trefz as ylce presldent and Evelyn Young as secre tary treasurer We put on a wonderful Valentme Formal and named Carry Gormley our Sweet heart As scholarly senlors we chose to follow Bob Morrls president Donn Walker vlce president Ioan Thober secretary Kent Axtell treasurer We closed the football season wlth a glorlous ban quet and dance-Joyce Grlfflths was the relgmng queen, and Rodney Epp and Jerry Roland were elected Honorary Co Captams By the way all durlng the season the band Bob Mueller was the drum major made qulte a showing for the school And speaklng about maklng good Ql'l0WlI1gS the clubs really dld a bang up job Zlp Club and B Club headed by Eleanor Trefz and Mud Walker pltched ln for the post war effort and rounded up twenty boxes of old clothing for the Boys Club ln Bremen Cermany ,lumor Red Cross was headed by Ben Goble Student Club bv Mary Hubka Key stone by Ardlth Flsher l'll Y hy ,lerry Schler meyer Rodney l'pp land Joyce Grlfflthsb headed thls year s Student founcll Neyer to be for otten are the lIll6I'6SllI'll., and humorous pages of the Ploneer edlted by Marcla Illlllllllg, and Dorls Mules and of course this yery 1n enlous book edlted by Mary Huhka and co edlted by Betsy Thomsen Lookin back over the three years we reallze what happy years they ye been What pleasant headache and heartaches Hoyy can yye ever forget dashlng up those creaky stalrs-crammm for a Modern Problems test or one of MISS Peter son s games boom and cheermg Zlp Club skits meetmg the gang doyyn at the Y after school velllng ourselyes hoarse at football and basketball games roastlng WICDICS at Graf s Grove-but most of all the JUIIIOI' Senior banquet and prom On May 21 as vye walked down the alsle ln our blue and whlte robes we thoughtfully mulled over the pleasant memorles we would alwavs cherlsh sand good bye to dear old Alma Mater, and wlshed the rest of you the best of luck' 1 -.
