A new Bearden High School opened its doors on September 3, 1969, for over 1000 students. With fifty teaching stations and more than sixty teachers, the school provides adequate facilities for a broad range of subject matter. Language and science labs, business equipment, music practice rooms, and club activity rooms are some of the offerings of the new BHS. Spacious areas such as the student malls and lounge provide places for conversation or for finishing that last bit of homework. The auditorium, first used for a dedication ceremony on October 16, and the green-carpeted library are attractive as well as practical. The athletic facilities are another outstanding asset. Much gratitude goes to those who made this possible. 5
