By Janice Jones I, Janice Jones, as a successful X-ray technician, have hereby been appointed (in this year of 1961) to inform the public as to the whereabouts of the B.H.S. graduates of the class of 1951. Looking in the most logical place, Bearden, I find many of us have taken teaching for our profession. Dorothy Ashford is head math teacher (Mrs. Aslinger is her assistant). Katharine Sharp teaches Spanish, Cynthia Smith is the Science teacher, Joan Scott is teaching in the grammar school, and Martha Bowen is Physical Education instructor. (Martha plays with the Pepsi-Cola girls to earn enough to live on comfortably). Joyce Tipton is here too — yes, she's still cheerleader for our B. H. S. Bulldogs. The P.T.A. has done much good this year because they have an excellent President. She is Mrs. E. H. Smith, the former Ramona Booher. Ramona tells us that Harold Thompson is a Second Lieutenant in the Air Corps. He is now stationed at an air base in Texas. Tom Burkhart is there, too. He's a control tower operator. Billy Clabough is the manager of White Store No. 30 in downtown Bearden. Carl Duggar is ploying professional football with the Los Angeles Rams. Our little Barbaro Smith is the efficient manager of Smith Drugs, Inc. Knoxvillians don't see Jo Reed or Pat Wright often because Jo is an airline stewardess, and Pat Wright is touring the country with his fellow boxing champs. If you have any legal trouble, take it to Mr. Guille Henegar — he's a very successful lawyer. Billy Knott is a Tennessee senator. David DeArmond is now the pastor of the Little White Church on the Corner. Zoe Andes and Doris Lloyd are Laboratory Technicians at Oak Ridge George King is very rich, an amusing television emcee. Kenneth Greene and Jimmy Brooks are operating the Greenbrook chain of grocery stores that are located throughout the south. Joy Ellison was sent to Africa as a missionary. She will soon be back for a vacation in the U. S. Ronald Busse, Russell Baker and Jack Medley have established themselves as mechanics in a garage of their own, and have a thriving business. Examples of outstanding Knoxville business men from our class are: George Kelly, who is also a well known lecturer; Don Mas-singale, Advertising Manager of the city's only newspaper; Lester Thomas, owner of several Drive-Ins; and Jimmy Turner, the owner of a wholesale house. Our girls are successful in the business world, too. Working as stenographers or secretaries are: Delories Jinks Knott, Norma Brooks, and Pat Coleman. Barbara McFall is Kress' Manager. All these girls are happily married, too. Betty Beck is a costume designer and Betty Phillips is her model. They are now working in New York City. Betty Wise is a registered nurse; a graduate of Fort Sanders Hospital. Some of us are still in the armed forces. Katherine Monroe (Waves), Glen Reed (Army), Fred Ogle (Coast Guard), Jerry Key (Navy), and Bill Testerman (Army). Bill is also a drummer in the U. S. Army Band. Since Fern Jenkins was inclined musically, she is now teaching piano to especially talented children. What Fern really wanted to be was a rich widow. So far the ptomaine poison has not been effective, but Fern is still hoping. Pif rn
