Our jackets now are on display, Our class is in its prime, But sixteen years ago today McKim stood alone in line. Three little maids from school are wci Morton, Saltzman, and NefI, IVhom the kindergarten greets with glee, And Buffy no longer is left. In first grade E. J joined our group, We diclnt have a care; XVe brought our sandwiches and soup, Miss Saltzman left us there. In fifth grade E. j. Linen went, IVe really missed her grin, But someone came to fill the x'cntg J. chncy wandered in! In seventh Kingsley came to Beard, XViIson came in eighth, Then Rita Hurriss looked around And found our little place. Ncumzmn, Harrison, Lemming, Fey, Rost and Stiles and Carter, Keith, Campbell, Pattyson, Prince Tried ninth grade as a start. As sophomores, Smith and Dane 21nd Gocrke IVeIcomcd Linen and Nefhe back, MCKCllztr, MacDonald, and two Emans Were added to our pack. Berkall, Brown, Phillips, YOII Broock - In junior year we grow a lot! Lois Clarkson, Ann Lcc ScaII', Jean XVilliznns, Poole, and Scott Bradley, Lyons, XVhecIcr, GrafI, Lester, Hasche, Hughesa Fun! It was our feature then! We really made class news. At last weVe reached our hnal year, XVeIre the class of I49 - Kerstein, Strassburger, Kelly came, And GoldIuss to round out our line. Page Fifty-hve Page Fifty-six .4 elleffer :70 jAe .Sjeniom Dear Seniors, As Father Time slowly ticks out the few remaining min- utes of the school year of nineteen forty-eight and forty-nine, we gaze with wonder and perhaps a bit of envy at the seniors who are about to venture into the world. Upon recalling all the activities and events of the year, we realize what wonder- ful times welve had, and what a large part the seniors have played in making them so successful. What would the student body have done without you, Pat, to guide us and encourage us through our many dilemmas; and without you, Mary, to lead the Honor Council so courageously? Nancy, you have been an inspiring senior president; we will always remember and look up to the example you have set for coming senior classes. Now that the trials and tribulations of the year are over, we can look back with a smile at our momentary problems. Remember the way the scenery for the Fair would not stay properly tacked to the wall, and the trouble we had rummaging for costumes for the Christmas pageant? And remember how we frantically led our puzzled fathers from class to class on Fatherls Day? Ilm sure none of us will forget the many tedious rehearsals we had for the Princeton Concert; but wasnt it fun when the Hbig nightll finally came? Our wonderful Spartan- Athenian athletic events will always hold a place in our mem- ories; winner or loser, we finished with the satisfaction of keen but friendly competition. Three cheers for the captains, Dot and Ann! Next year the senior responsibilities will fall upon us. We shall rise with trembling knees before the school to take over chapel service; we shall struggle through pages of college boards; and we shall fret over our many clubs and organizations as if they were our own children. Nevertheless, we are all lOOke ing forward eagerly to the coming year, with high hopes of being as successful as the Class of nineteen forty-nine has been. Surely the whole school joins us in sending you our love and our very sincere wishes for the best of luck in the future. THE CLASS OF 1950. Elizabeth Smt!
