They won their first game in the tournament from Toledo. They were then defeated by Reinbeck, the State Champs. They lost the consolation game in the tournament to Gladbrook in an overtime. In 24 starts Beaman scored 1,159 points to the opponents 778 points. Two of the three games lost were tournament games. Grundy Center de- feated Beaman in the first round of the County Tournament and Linsdale was the victor in the second round of the Sectional Tournament against Beaman. 16

All lettermen returned from last year's squad which included Anderson, Oglesby, Wescott, Lynch, Hall, Arends, Hammond, Bein, Bob and B111 Griggs. Reporting for practice for the first time were freshmen Leo Kopsa, Larry Hulcahy, Jack Grove and Dean Sandstoe. The fall baseball season ended with the Wildcats winning 6 and losing 1. The loss was to Dysart 1 to 0 in the sectional tournament. They proved to be a good team by taking the state baseball tournament.
