Meets Varied Needs Although a small school, Beachwood offers a full curriculum to fulfill the needs of its pupils. Three foreign languages, taught with the aid of a new language laboratory, and complete science and mathe- matics departments make it possible for students to advance as far as they wish in their chosen fields. Excellent English and social studies programs round out the academic curriculum and help to make it one of the finest in the area. Beachwood emphasizes college preparatory studies. There are two college preparatory courses offered, the regular course and the advanced courses. Students participating in the advanced program begin ac- celerating in the eighth grade so that by their senior year they are able to take courses for advanced placement in college. In addition to these, Beachwood also has fine music, art, and busi- ness departments. Music and art students have won much recognition in city-wide contests. Many of the student body take typing and shorthand from the business department in addition to their regular courses. 19 English and physic al education. MISS JUNE MILLS Spanish and English.
