aftffifiit 0444 ?zo,64eay Dear duary I am sorry I hawent pald am attentlon to you lately but I w1ll make up for lt now March 9 1964 lVIy boss Mr Sherhag and I left Chlcago enroute to New York to meet w 1th Nlr Tom Duncan for a busme ss conference and to complete the hrm s mcome tax form As we boarded our plane we were xery surprlsed to see our old classmate Nancy Agler as a stewardess for TWA Alrllnes Whlle talking wlth her we learned that our plane was bemg plloted by Charles Bose We dldn t get to talk to Chuck untrl we were grounded 1n Canton by a very bad storm 1 suggested to Larry that we v1s1t n1y old glrl fuend Ituthle who I had been Wfltlllg to She IS now marrred to Doyal I'eller and l1v1ng ln Canton As we rennnlsced wlth her we learned more about our old schoolmates Ruthle told us that Rhea Numbers IS marrled to the mayor of Canton Havlng a few spare hours we declded to take a taxx down to Beach Clty to find out more about the Class of 54 We made our Hrst stop at our old Alma Mater Beach C1ty Hlgh School As we entered school was leavlng out and we were just ln tlme to catch Coach Gene Hostetler before sprmg football practlce He told us that he was workmg on a 14 game wmnmg streak over the last two seasons He also told us Shlrley Nelswander was teachmg Home Econonucs and Consumer Subjects here We wlshed Gene luck and went down to the Home Iac Department to see Shlrley who was very happy to see us She l11fOI'IIl6d us that Pat F raehch was marrled to Walt and l1v1ng ln Strasburg She also told us that Don Llnerode was ralsmg beef cattle and redheads on a farm east of Beach Clty We returned to Canton and caught our plane for New York Wow' March 10 Upon our arrlval at Laguardla Fleld at 8 00 A M we were met by 'lom and lmmedlately went to hls ofhce and by SIX that evenmg our bus mess was finlshed so Tom declded that we should be hlS guest tor the evenmg I always wanted to go to the Copacabanna so away we went 'Ihe floor show lncluded a rlsmg torch smger Mlss Joyce Cash After her performance she spotted us and came over to our table We had a wonderful chat and d1S covered that Nancy Hatch was showmg an art CXhlb1t at the Metropolltan Museum of Art We always knew she would be a great artlst Upon leaving the Copa we were almost run over by a huge Cadlllac whlch we were soon to fmd was operated by Les Howell the mllhonarre playboy We asked hmm to Join us for the rest of the evemng but he was ln a hurry to meet a. gorgeous blonde We then went home wlth the Duncan s and retlred after spendlng an hour looking through the 54 annual March 11 Smce I had always wanted to see a TV show we went to see Arthur Godfreys Show Midway through the show Larry observed that one of the cameramen looked fanullar I lmmedlately recognlzed hlm as Carlos Peebles Havlng only a few hours untll plane tlme we had to leave wlthout talklng to Cart We sald farewell to Nlr and Urs Duncan and left for the anport lmmed lately We boarded our plane and were Chlcago bound March 12 Well here I am back Nothing seems to haxe changed except my dog Curly IS slck so I thmk Ill call the vet Excuse me Dxary Well Im back and lmagme my surprlse m findmg Carol Reed bemg listed ln the phone book as a vetermarlan ThlS IS the completion of '1 xcrx nlce trlp and a ehcck on thc small but wonderful class of 1954 Larry Sherhag Donna Forney I 1 7 - , , , , . , . . v 1 l x In .
