Trmiqg 944 7fc'4twuf One September mormng w hen everyone was hurrvlng around a small group of tots were seen makmg their vsay through town toward a llttle red school house They were greeted by their smiling teacher NIISS Wmthers Among this glouo were Joyce Cash lXancy Agler Charles Bosc Carol Reed Tommy Duncan Ruthle Stldd Benny Eberly Donna Forney and many others whom we no longer have wlth us Everyone Jolned the rhythm band and began thelr musical careers MISS Wmthers again taught us ln the second grade Rhea Numbers Jolned us and Donna Forney left us Mrs Carr was our teacher the following year We learned our multiplr cation tables to seven and for the first tlme had a taste of geography Dwlght Van F ossen Jolned us that year The fourth grade was more eventful Larry Sherhag and Donna Forney Joined us and Dwight Van Fossen left us Under the guidance of our teacher Mrs Carr we learned to dlV1de We really thought we were somethlng the following year because we were advanced to a new blllldlllg We had three new teachers They were lVIrs Reese lVIr Henning and Mr Sibley We sold Inagazlnes for the first time and started our careers as super salesmen Leroy Jacobs Donald Llnerode and Robert Roblnson Jolned our happy little group During our sixth year of school Mrs Beatty and Mr Miles took Mr Hen nmgs and Mr Sibley s places Nancy Hatch of Wlnesburg Joined us In our seventh year we found Wilmot movmg 1n with us Among them were Vlolet Espenschleld Patr1c1a Fraelich Theresa Gemma Shirley Sampsel and Dwight Van Fossen Irene Steele Helen Huklll B111 Wolfe Ruth Eberly and Arden Sampsel Joined us also We elected class officers for the first tlme They were President B111 Wolfe Vice presldent Rhea Numbers Secretary Donna Forney and Treasurer Ronald Davis One of the most important events of the seventh grade was the changing of the styles The boys were smartly dressed in frllly dresses whlle the girls wore sloppy overalls and shirts A very good poem concerning the girls wearlng overalls was wrltten by Larry Sherhag Our teachers for that year were Mr Kohr Mrs Reese and Mr Miles We started our eighth year by electing the following class officers Presl dent Bonnie Taylor Vlce president Rhea Numbers Secretary Joyce Cash Treasurer Ruthle Stldd We selected our motto Onw ard 1nto the World of Tomorrow our class flower Whlte Rose our class colors green and white and our class name Lazy Fifties Our teachers were Mrs Moody Mrs Reese and Mr Kohr our class advlsor Jim and Joe Burris Elsie Yoder Mary Kauffman Bonnie Taylor Martha Jacobs Violet Reed and Richard Domer Joined us Martha and Leroy Jacobs left us We worked very hard that year and raised funds for a trip to Columbus 5, 9 ff ' , ,,, ' ' 5 . But this IS only the begmnmg for Peggy wants to see Brll and Bull rs one of the brides' And Aunt Ellen IS definitely mterested ln Uncle Dan but so are Mrs Duvalle Smith and her slster' To top lt all off the crazy woman who thmks she IS Lady Macbeth has escaped from a near by samtorlum and she and her nurse McDaniel stage a contmuous cat and dog race through the household Inxolxed too was the tlmld nearsnghted Mr Oswald and unsuspectmg bull-collector who ns drafted as one of Jlmmys brides But lt all turns out for the best and Uncle Dan rs finally com nnced of has nephew s honesty and ambltlon ' 2 ' ' , ' , , , , ' 2 , .
