Under his firm guidance the conduct at Bayside has been maintained at a high level. -1 MR. JOHN CZERNIEWICZ Dean of Boys In addition to his important position as Dean of Boys, Mr. Czerniewicz teaches drafting and is faculty advisor to the Newman Club. A native of Buffalo, he came to Bayside in 1947. He is a graduate of Rutgers University. WILLIAM KOCHNOWER Administrative Assistant Mr. Kochnower's first love is mathematics but as Administrative Assistant in charge of the An- nex he hasn't had much time for the third R in the last few years. Before coming to Bayside MRS. LEONE N. WILLETT Acting Adnziizistratifve Assistant Mrs. Willett handles her chores as Acting Ad- ministrative Assistant and Dean of Girls at Bay- side with ease and dispatch. Outgoing and optimistic, she is planning to take a round-the- MR. LEONARD j. PINCUS Administratifve Assistant Fairness, wisdom, and willingness to listen to the problems of any boy or girl have won for Mr. Pincus the universal respect and admiration of the student body. Mr. Pincus came to Bay- side in 1936-the year the school opened -as a member of the Physics Department. He was 3 4 i ,L in 1946 he was an instructor in Army Air Force Technical Schools. He studied at Brooklyn Col- lege, Columbia, and N.Y.U. Mr. Kochnower is a member of the Jericho, L. I., Board of Edu- cation, the recipient of two research fellowships, and the author of a number of articles on mathematics. world trip in a freighter. Her travels have taken her so far to such places as Bermuda and Guate- mala. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Barnard College, she completed her studies at Teachers College and the University of California, where she won a fellowship in physics. one of a group of pioneer teachers from Flush- ing High School that came to staff the new school. The Administrative Assistant is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of C.C.N.Y. He also studied at Columbia and N.Y.U. and has traveled widely. Mr. Pincus is currently president of the Ad- ministrative Assistants Association. His hobbies are gardening and golf.

She came to Bayside from Flushing High School in 1945 and has stud- ied at Smith College and Columbia University. Alexander Hamilton High Schools before coming to Bay- side.
