agclgffi 0 agzii e In the obscurity of historical past, we were able to recover a fragment of the story of a very select group of knights and maidens. The parchment on which it was recorded is yellowed and faded with age, but here is what our experts were able to assemble. The year is 1950 A.D. Many smallish squires and lasses have come to Bayside Castle to receive an education from the queen's own public tutors. The tutors are of the rarest type, and provide much amusement as well as education. The language department seems especially hot Qas the dialect of such times would have expressed itj. From there we hear much talk of roto-rooters and stamp pads reading I told you sof' The French teachers, born Crusaders for most anything, are constantly becoming extremely warm under the collar about such things as Communism, wheat germ, and Hthis wretched progressive educationf' History teachers continually remind their students that they are not allowed to talk politics in class, and yet, by the end of the term, there are few students who could not quote from memory, the political beliefs of their teacher. The most noticeable group is The Order of the Hoods. This is a small group of boys, lovely little knights, who delight in walking as if they were in a strong draft. Their collars are up, their trousers are tied at the ankles, and their faces are pained. Then, of course, there is the in- evitable middle group, comprised of just plain, average students. The leaders of this class have not quite come into focus, but they are dehnitely there. Already there are solid statesmen leading various organizations, cool cats making the educational jungle jump with swing, and powerful sportsmen bringing home the hardware. Suddenly, there is the roar of many drums, and all shudder as the Korean War begins. The third year of this unique class is a busy one. Apothecary Crane gives way to Apothecary Moskowitz, who is immediately accused by a few mentally dencient churls of wanting to change the school into a prison. They soon learn, though, that the new Principal knows how to handle people and organizations, and the school is improved, slowly but surely. The ban on extra-curricular activities is withdrawn, and the student body shifts into high. Teams begin to Twelve
