On September 5, 1950, there was thirty-one of us to start high school. For our freshmen officers, we had Helen De Young to head our class and be our president, Lois Vanderpal acted as our vice president, Cody Hollenbeck, our secretary, and Betty Halstead, our treasurer. For the Student Council, Betty Halstead and Sam Absher were elected to represent our class. Mrs. Hill was our capable advisor, who helped us with two candy sales and escorted us on a roller skating party. How we are getting older and smarter so we have advanced to the sophomore class. Lynn Judson now has the honor of being our president, Hilda Faber, our vice president, Sam Absher, our secretary, and Jim Wilbrandt, our treasurer. This year we selected Betty Halstead and Lynn Judson to represent our class in the Student Council. Mr. Hadley is our advisor. He escorted us to another roller skating party in McHenry. Now comes our big year, we are now Juniors. Clayton Ihrke is our president, Sam Absher, our vice president, Helen De Young, our secretary, and Carl Walde, our treasurer. Betty Halstead and Sam Absher are our Student Council represenatives. The theme for our Homecoming float is Swinging To Victory , for which we received first prize. For the home football and basketball games we sold candy, pop, and hot dogs. Just before Thanksgiving we had a card party and a turkey raffel. Our class gave a Hick Hop and Marie Adams was selected Queen and Josef Albrecht, King . For our Prom, which was very successful, Mr. Higdon, our very capable advisor, helped us decorate the gymnasium, to carry out the theme Deep Purple . This year we had an exchange student, Josef Albrecht, from Germany. This being our last year and a very busy one, we chose Sam Absher to be president, Eddie Rolls, vice president, Mary Meyers, treasurer, and Helen De Young, secretary. We decided to have another officer. We elected Bob Ellison as our general chairman. Cody Hollenbeck and Sam Absher were our Student Council represenatives with the latter president of the Student Council. This year we again had an exchange student, Otto Schweins, from Germany. We started the year with a big bang by breaking all previous records selling magazines. We had bake sales throughout the school year and a Stag, Hag, or Drag Dance . For Homecoming, Helen De Young was our Queen and Jim Wilbrandt and Clayton Ihrke were Co-Kings Mr. Stoikoff was selected to sponsor the class. As you can see our four years have been quite busy. We wish to thank our parents, teachers, and fellow students who made it possible for us to graduate. Donna Allen Irma Fringer
