CAFETERIA HOSTESSES Advisor: Mary Wurhrrer (.afeteria Hostesses serve during lunch periods. They must possess personality, patience, and courtesy in order to qualify. Mr. Koss—Operates the cafeteria. DRAMATICS Advisors: Kstcllr Flynn. Maxinr Siffrl. The aim in the Dramatic Club is to bring about a coordination of mind and body. Students are trained to read, enjoy and produce plays. Their yearly public appearances inculcate self-assurance. ART Advisor: Kuth I-awson Art provides opportunities for individual creativeness, ami social fellowship for students interested in painting, modeling, commercial art, and fashion designing. Painter, John Gorman HOSTESS CLUB Advisitr: Mary Wurlicrcr. Hostesses cheerfully serve at the information desk, and at all school functions. The club is not open for membership. Members of the faculty make recommendations. 96

HOME NURSING Advisor: Clara L. Prentiss, R.N. Even though the war is over, there still is a need for knowledge in Home Nursing. Students are trained to meet emergencies, safeguard family health, and give care under the guidance of a physician. FIRST AID Advisors: Mary B. Wueherer, Ann McKechnie First Aid acquaints students with sufficient knowledge to determine the nature and extent of an injury. It trains them to do the proper thing at the proper time. SAFETY Advisor: Miss Givens. In safely classes students urc made familiar with, and are taught how to operate an automobile. Motor vehicle law that enable them pass the examination for drivers' licenses are taught. PHOTOGRAPHY Advisor: Oscar Bodenhorn. Photography club trains students in the essentials of photographic work. Supplies are furnished without rharge until students become proficient in printing, developing and enlarging pictures. 95

DEBATING Coach: John Mahoney Debators are trained to conduct morning exercises and assembly programs. Congress officers are instructed in making campaign speeches. Patricia Meese represented B.H.S. in Junior Town Meeting of the Air. Beverly Goodman participated in the State Oratorical Contest. LIBRARY COUNCIL Advisors: I.eocadia Grzchik. Minnie Stunt Council members check and replace hooks on shelves, process new and mend old ones, and prepare reference material to serve the school.
