“The Junior Navy day held in the New York Group, Sixteenth Fleet, Bayonne, New Jersey on Saturday October 26, 1646 was a successful evolution. It was a pleasure to welcome the young men from Bayonne Senior High School on hoard, and have them as members of my staff for that day. Their keen and intelligent interest was very gratifying. I take pleasure in extending a “Well Done” to each one, and I look forward to welcoming a similar group from their excellent school next year.” The foregoing are the words used by Captain II. R. Southworth, Commander New York Group, Sixteenth Fleet, in giving his impression of Junior Navy Day.
