At the time we go to the press, the (iarnet and W hite has suffered but one defeat in the seven games played. Bight more games remain to be played and the Leemeti hope to make it a straight fourteen consecutive wins for the year. SWIMMING TEAM Coach: John Maxcuso Manager: Tai l L'slan After losing a fine varsity team last year. Coach Manenso surprised the swimming world by bringing up a fine team without a varsity man on it. Our team obtained a higher score both in the National and State Championships than any other team of Hudson County. A few swimmers, such as the Hanlon brothers, have given our school a national reputation by their individual performances. --------------------------------------------------------------------► At the time the Year Hook goes to press, the Tennis Team has played but one game. TRACK TEAM CROSSCOUXTKV TEAM The Cross Country Team of 1941 continued the record set them by the teams of former years by winning consecutive victories to a total of forty-seven in the Countv competition. The Carnet and W hite harriers also took fourth position in the State Meet. In the National Championship Meet in which over four hundred schools competed. IS. II. S. placed tenth, bringing national recognition to the school. The Track Team set a record for itself also, nmng the eighty-eight schools from the Metropolitan area participating in the Dickinson Meet. ISayonne rated first for the State. In the National Meet at Madison Square Carden, lkayonne’s endurance runners came in sixth in the two mile rclav. and seventh in the halt mile relay. One-hundred-sixty
