Some 25 years ago when Verna llooks ancl Nlarrs Xlcluean first became interestecl in Baylor, through the influence of ll. K. Martin, they gaye a substantial clonation to the Lvniversity before eyer seeing the campus. After seeing the campus some years later. Mr. llarrs McLean eommentecl that he thought the Baylor campus lacked charaeter. lfver since that time the NlcLeans have tlonatefl generously in ortler to proyicle the Baylor campus with eharaeter and beauty. Together Hr. and Hrs. Nlehean built the Marrs McLean Gymnasium. tlonated generously to the builcling ofthe :Xrmstrong-Brown- ing Library ancl set up yarious entlowments. After Mr. Melueanis tleath. Klrs. Nleluean has eontinuecl to contribute to the welfare of Baylor hy providing the funtls to builcl the lovely new McLean Science Building antl spacious mall which surrounds it. Also she has aicletl greatly in equipping the new hall with the latest scientific equipment.
