ln Memoriam Dr, A. P. Cagle-lovecl and respected by faculty members, students, and McLennan County Democrats-dedicated his thirty-seven years at Baylor teaching to thousands of students the American system of self-government. Dr. Cagle spread his influence to many young men who went from Baylor into law practice, local and state politics. Many others came into Contact with him during his many years of service as county Democratic chairman. A lawyer and author as well as a professional student of political science, Dr. Cagle stood as a strong proponent of the American way of life. Therefore, the Round Up joins with friends and relatives in paying homage to Dr. A. P. Cagle, a man who, though others will be named to his various positions, was in .t very real sense, irreplaceable.

In Appreciation . . . Mrs. Lois Smith Murray: an expert in effective living. To her we dedicate the 1962 Round Up. Mrs. Murray is an outstanding scholar, teacher, author and sincere friend to all within the Baylor family. Twice this year she has been honored, as the outstanding woman faculty member and the top woman alumna of Baylor. She has done graduate work at five universities and holds an honorary doctor of literature from Howard Payne College. Her book, Effective I.iving,', is in its second printing and has been adopted as a textbook by colleges throughout the nation. As a teacher Mrs. Murray has loved her students and sought to help them grow with an insatiable intel- lectual curiosity. She has tried to help the students know and accept themselves and grow in mental and moral stature. But even greater, she has possessed the rare strength to endure great suffering and sorrow and demonstrate great concern for others with far lesser woes. To a great lady, Mrs. Lois Murray, we dedicate this book.
