A 1 M THE FIRST LADY ( Some four and a half years ago I came to the Baylor Campus as the wife of President W. R. White. Naturally, I wastyoth curious and anxious. Coming ve among strangers and to he related to a great University, constituted an experience of serious proportions. Li e has been feverishly busy, but most i tteresting and stimulating. I am parable enjoying Baylor immensely. Mrs. Russell has been associated with Baylor as either a student or em- ployee for more than 50 years. As an employee, she has served in the capacities of English instructor, Assistant Dean of Women, Acting Dean of Women, Dean of Women, Director of Public Relations, which office she helped originate in 1940, Dean of the Union Building, and is now engaged in the writing of the history of Baylor University. Russell is a genuine Baylorite and has exemplified the Christian prin- ciples of love, friendship, and understanding toward all with whom she has come in contact. Mrs. Russell is truly Baylor itself.
