LEWIS VERNE PENTECOST . . . jerry was born in West Columbia, Texas, on August 5, 1931. His home town now is Manvel, Texas. He graduated from Alvin High School in 1948. He attended Baylor Uni- versity from 1948 to 1952, and graduated with a B.A. degree in chemistry. At Baylor Med. he has been a mem- ber of Alpha Kappa Fraternity. In june, 1952, he was married to Patsy Ruth Vaughan in Waco. They have no children. His internship will be at the Robert B. Green Hospital in San Antonio. DONALD C. PINKERTON . . . Don was born on February 27, 1930, in Fatchgarh Utar Pradesh. India, the son of Presbyterian missionaries. He came to Texas in 1939. Houston is his present home town. He graduated from Reagan High of Houston in 1948. He attended Park College, Missouri, from 1948 to 1952, and graduated with a B.A. degree in the natural sciences. He was married to Elizabeth Wolfe on August 4, 1953. Libby is a medical technologist. His internship will be at Detroit Receiving Hospital. He plans a surgery residency to be followed by foreign medi- cal missionary work for the Presbyterian Church. FLOYD L. POLLARD . . . Floyd was born August 10, 1929, in Wink, Texas, Beau- mont is now his home town. He graduated from Beaumont High in 1946. He was in the Navy for the next four years, but found time to attend night school at Washington Uni- versity. He attended Lamar State College from 1950 to 1951. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa scholastic honorary and Kollege Klub social organization. He has been a member of Phi Beta. Pi at Baylor Med. He was married in June, 1955, to Estelle Ramos. Estelle is a registered nurse. His internship will be at Gorgas in the Panama Canal Zone. He plans a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

ROBERT B. O'BRIEN. . . Robert, who hails from Big Spring, was born October 12, 1927, in Munday, Texas. He was graduated from Big Spring High School in 1945. Robert then spent two years in the Army, after which he attended Hardin-Simmons University where he received a B.A. degree in 1951. In college he was active in dramatics. He was also editor of the college yearbook for one year and was elected to Who's Who in American Colleges and Uni- versities. Since coming to Baylor he has been active in the B.S.U. and a member of Phi Chi Medical Fraternity, serving as that group's president in 1955-56. Robert is unmarried. His internship will be at Methodist Hospital in Houston. He plans to take some general surgery residency training and then do general practice in West Texas. JAMES ROLAND OLD . . . jim was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 2, 1951. His present hometown is Winnsboro, Texas. He graduated from Winnsboro High in 1948. He was editor of the school paper, president of the band, and vice president of the Jun- ior class. He attended Kemper Military School where he was a member of the scholastic honor society from 1948 to 1950 and then enrolled in Southern Methodist University. He graduated with a B.S. degree in biology in 1952. At Baylor Med he has been a member of Phi Chi Fraternity and Osler Society. He and Carolyn Thomas were wed on December 28, 1954. They have no children. His internship will be at jefferson Davis Hospital. He plans either general practice or a surgery residency. After moving around a bit, he graduated from Paris, Texas, High School in 1949. He attended Southern Methodist University from 1949 to 1952. While there he served as pledge master and house manager of Beta Theta Pi Social Fraternity and was a mem- ber of Phi Eta Sigma honorary scholastic fraternity. He re- ceived his B.S. in the summer of 1954. At Baylor he has been president of Phi Beta Pi, president of the Baylor S.A.M.A., and vice president of Osler Society. Hugh will take a straight internal medicine internship at johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and will follow this with a residency in Internal Medicine.

GL. , gpg, DARON H. POWELL, JR .... Daron was born August 15, 1932, in Dallas, Texas. His parents are Dr. and Mrs. D. H. Powell. He attended and graduated from Waco Public Schools in 1949. He attended Baylor University from 1949 to 1952 when he graduated with a B.A. degree. At Baylor Med. he was a member of Alpha Kappa Kappa Fraternity and President of his Freshman Class. PREBLE . . . Harry was born in San Antonio, Texas, on December 7, 1930. His present home town is Houston. He graduated from Milby High in Houston and then entered Baylor Uni- versity, He was a member of Tri-C Society and was gradu- ated with B.S. degree in Medical Science after one year at Baylor Med. At Baylor University College of Medicine, he has been a member of Phi Chi Fraternity and Osler Society. He was married to ,Io Mason in 1955. His internship will be at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. JV .55 ' W , 1 .,,4n if 1 wi 5 GEORGE GILBERT CHANDLER PYLE . . . Bert was born in Meridian, Mississippi, on August 7, 1925, and Meridian is still his home town. He graduated from high school there in 1944. He entered Millsaps Col- lege in jackson in 1947 and was graduated with a B.S. degree in 1949. He was in the Navy for two years and then entered the University of Texas graduate school. He received an M.A. degree in bacteriology in 1952. At Baylor Med. he has been a member of Alpha Kappa Kappa Fraternity. He was married to Joan Nell Briggs on December 2, 1951. They have one daughter. His internship will be at Hermann Hospital, Houston. He may do a residency in Ophthalmology.
