RAYMOND MONDSHINE . . . 1 Raymond was born in Houston, Texas, December 19, 1931. After graduation in 1949 from St. Thomas High School, where he was an honor student, he spent a year at Rice Institute and then went on to A and M College. At A and M he was a Distinguished Student, member of the Interfaith Council, Pre-Med Society, and active in Intra- mural Sports, receiving championship awards in golf and ping-pong. OATES . . . jimmy was born in Wlewoka, Oklahoma, on july 17, ff vi' ig, FRANCIS DONALD OAKES . . . Francis was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania, on August 25, 1951. Rio Hondo, Texas, is his present home town. He graduated from San Benito, Texas, High School in 1948. He entered Bethany Nazarene College in 1948 and grad- uated in 1952 with a B.S. degree in biology. He was listed among Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, was president of Beta Sigma Lambda Biology Society and of Phi Beta Lambda Honor Society, and was on the Student Council. At Baylor Med. he was a member of Phi Beta Pi Fraternity and of the BSU Council. He was married to Carol Browning in September, 1952. His internship will be at Brooke Army Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. 1926. His present home town is Odessa, Texas. He grad- uated from high school in Seminole, Texas, in 1943. He attended Texas Tech College for two years and then en- tered the U. S. Army. He was discharged with rank of 'Sergeant in 1946 and returned to Texas Tech for three semesters. His decision to be a Doctor was made in 1950 and he again returned to Texas Tech to complete pre-med training. He was a member of the pre-med club and Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-med honorary. At Baylor University Col- lege of Medicine, he has been a member of Phi Chi Fra- ternity. I He was married to Virginia Perrenod in 1955. They have two sons. field. LAWRENCE DUWAYNE MITCHELL . . . was born in Henderson, Kentucky, February 23, 1925. He was graduated from High School in his home town of Huntsville in 1942 and then spent a year at Sam Hous- ton State Teachers College there. The Navy claimed him for three years, and after dis- charge he was married to Betty jo Swift. They have one son. In 1948 he received a B.B.A. from Sam Houston and did graduate work there for two more years. He then went on to the University of Texas from which he re- ceived his B.A. in 1952. At BUCM Mitch was a member of Phi Chi Medical Fraternity. He will intern at the Baptist Hospital in Nash- ville, Tennessee, and eventually plans to enter General Practice. w l it JASPER LEWIS MCPHAIL . . . was born in Slate Spring, Mississippi, December 50, 1930. In 1948 he entered Clarke Memorial College where he received the Most Outstanding Athlete Award and was graduated as Valedictorian of his class in 1950. The next two years were spent at Mississippi College where he was editor of the school paper, and, among other honors, received the Aven Scholarship Award. He received his B.S. Magna Cum Laude in 1952. At BUCM he was AKK and served as House Manager in 1953. He was President of BSU in 1955-1956. He will intern at University Hospital, jackson, Missis- sippi. He eventually plans to enter the medical mission H-1-J-If 'i THOMAS R. MOFFETT . . . , was born june 23, 1953, in Center, Texas, and graduated . from high school there in 1950. Tom attended Baylor University from 1950 to 1952 and earned enough hours to be awarded his B.S. degree in Medical Sciences after one year at medical school. He was a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-medical honor society. At Baylor Med. Tom has been a member of Alpha Kappa Kappa Fraternity. 1 QW 'XM On August 13, 1955, he was married to Jean Marrow of l it t'ii H Houston. ROBERT B. O'BRIEN. . . Robert, who hails from Big Spring, was born October 12, 1927, in Munday, Texas. He was graduated from Big Spring High School in 1945. Robert then spent two years in the Army, after which he attended Hardin-Simmons University where he received a B.A. degree in 1951. In college he was active in dramatics. He was also editor of the college yearbook for one year and was elected to Who's Who in American Colleges and Uni- versities. Since coming to Baylor he has been active in the B.S.U. and a member of Phi Chi Medical Fraternity, serving as that group's president in 1955-56. Robert is unmarried. His internship will be at Methodist Hospital in Houston. He plans to take some general surgery residency training and then do general practice in West Texas. JAMES ROLAND OLD . . . jim was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 2, 1951. His present hometown is Winnsboro, Texas. He graduated from Winnsboro High in 1948. He was editor of the school paper, president of the band, and vice president of the Jun- ior class. He attended Kemper Military School where he was a member of the scholastic honor society from 1948 to 1950 and then enrolled in Southern Methodist University. He graduated with a B.S. degree in biology in 1952. At Baylor Med he has been a member of Phi Chi Fraternity and Osler Society. He and Carolyn Thomas were wed on December 28, 1954. They have no children. His internship will be at jefferson Davis Hospital. He plans either general practice or a surgery residency. After moving around a bit, he graduated from Paris, Texas, High School in 1949. He attended Southern Methodist University from 1949 to 1952. While there he served as pledge master and house manager of Beta Theta Pi Social Fraternity and was a mem- ber of Phi Eta Sigma honorary scholastic fraternity. He re- ceived his B.S. in the summer of 1954. At Baylor he has been president of Phi Beta Pi, president of the Baylor S.A.M.A., and vice president of Osler Society. Hugh will take a straight internal medicine internship at johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and will follow this with a residency in Internal Medicine.
