It was founded on July 3'1, 1943, by a group of the Xi Chapter from Dallas who had come to Houston with the new Baylor University College of Medicine. Since its founding the chapter has grown and prospered with the help of many alumni, not only of Xi Chi, but of brother chaptersg especially Zeta in Galveston. The fraternity house is at 511 Lovett Blvd., where twenty-six members reside. Due to limited accommodations, only freshmen and officers may live in the house. There is adequate room for friendly Saturday night parties and a special study room is under construction, Three scholarship awards are presented each yearg two are fraternity awards and one is a 35100 award open to all students. A lectureship brings leading men in medicine to present papers once a year. At the beginning of this school year there were seventy-six active fraternity members and a pledge class of twenty-two. Over a hundred members of the faculty are Phi Chi alumni. Top row Tim Lowry, John Starkey, Claude Atkins. 511 Lovett Blvd. Dodge, Robert O'Brien, Stanley Conner.
